Bathing procedure


1. Add 1/2 of the volume of deionized water to the tank  

2. Add the required methanesulfonic acid and stir  

3. Add the required tin methanesulfonate and mix until uniform  

4. Warm up to operating temperature  

5. Add Sn-818A and mix thoroughly  

6. Replenish water to the operating level  

7. Add Sn-818B slowly and mix thoroughly  

A Operating conditions --- hang & barrel plating

Temperature 70-122 ℉ ( 21-50 ) is the best: 85 ℉ ( 29 ℃)             

The recommended ratio of anode and cathode is 1 : 1             

Anode current density 2 0AS F (maximum 2.0AS D )             

Cathode current density 0.9-46.3 ASF (0.1-5.0 ASD)             

Cathode stirring 3-6 ft/min (1-2m/min)             

Anode high purity tin, tin / lead, platinum titanium                    

       

B operating conditions --- continuous plating

Temperature . 9 0-1 40 deg.] F ( 32 - 60 deg.] C) optimum: 120-130 deg.] F ( 49-55 deg.] C)             

Recommended ratio of anode and cathode 2 : 1             

Anode current density 10 0 -800 AS F ( 10.8-86 AS D )

Solution maintenance

Tin methanesulfonate and methacrylic acid by partial chemical bath add analysis results.

 Sn-818A : is the initial grain micronizer, it will be consumed with electrolysis and carry-out, 150-300 ml per 1000 ampere hour      

 Sn-818B : Strengthen the dense structure of the coating to provide a smooth and dense coating. It is consumed with electrolysis, 10-30ml per 1000 ampere hour    

  

Operating skills & equipment

Trough

Need PP , PE , PVC or the same acid-resistant material lining, PP , PE welding tank is superior to PP , PE molding tank, because the mold release agent used for molding will cause irremediable pollution to the tank liquid. New tanks or used tanks should be cleaned as recommended. Before building a bath, contact Bigley for specific instructions.

Using Dynel or PP cartridge, 10 [mu] m , only non-filter in the bath for metal workpieces, filtered insufficient cause sintering or rough coating.

Soluble anode

(The titanium basket is full at any time). The anode hook can be titanium or Monel , preferably with a plastic sheath. The anode hook cannot touch the bath. The anode bag should be made of Dynal or PP . If it is a used anode bag, It needs to be leached with 5% MSA solution first to remove large and small impurities.

Insoluble anode

Platinum titanium or iridium oxide film titanium, mainly used in high current density or spray application

Rectifier

Direct current, wave volt does not exceed 5%
