Zinc-nickel alloys are commonly used as plating materials for corrosion prevention applications, and their salt spray resistance is critical for many industrial uses. Especially in areas such as marine equipment and automotive brake calipers, the protective properties of zinc-nickel alloys have a direct impact on the life and reliability of the equipment.

Use of high-performance passivation solution

Choosing the right passivator is essential to improve salt spray resistance. Bigely zinc-nickel alloy blue passivator Zn-323, performs well in practical applications. In the Neutral Salt Spray Accelerated Corrosion Test (NSS), Zn-323 showed white rust for more than 240 hours and red rust for more than 1,000 hours. It was able to provide protection for a longer period of time. The use of Zn-323 passivate can form a dense and non-porous passivation film on the surface of the plated layer, effectively blocking the intrusion of corrosive media and thus improving the salt spray resistance of the plated layer.
