The phenomenon of color difference in the zinc-nickel alloy plating process is usually related to several factors, including the composition of the plating solution, plating parameters, the surface condition of the workpiece, and the post-treatment process. In plating practice, the problem of color difference is a common quality control challenge, which directly affects the appearance quality of the plated layer.

First of all, the ratio of zinc to nickel in the plating bath has a significant effect on the color difference of the plated layer. A properly formulated and stably maintained plating bath is necessary to ensure that the nickel content is in the right range, usually between 12% and 15%. If the nickel content is lower than expected or fluctuates too much, this may result in uneven coloration of the plated layer in the zinc-nickel alloy plating process.

Secondly, plating parameters, such as current density, plating time, pH value and temperature of the plating solution, need to be strictly controlled. If these parameters are not appropriate, the coating may appear chromatic aberration. For example, a high current density may lead to an increase in the nickel content of the coating, causing the color to favor the characteristic nickel color.

Furthermore, the surface treatment of the workpiece itself is also a key factor. If the pre-treatment is not sufficient, leaving oil, oxidation layer, abrasion marks or other surface defects, then the plating coating may appear color difference in local places.

Finally, passivation in the post-treatment process can also affect the color uniformity of the coating. Uneven passivation produces areas of different colors in the coating.

Due to the complexity of the interaction of these factors, when using Bigely zinc-nickel alloy plating process, electroplating plants need to carry out strict process control and quality testing throughout the plating process to ensure that the color difference problem of electrozinc-nickel alloy coating is effectively managed, so as to produce products with good quality and good color consistency.
