When using electroless nickel plating solution to produce, the influence of each component in the plating solution on stability

When we use electroless nickel plating solution for production, preventing the spontaneous decomposition of the plating solution and improving the quality of the plating layer are important tasks in the production of electroless nickel. The control of the concentration of each component in the electroplating solution is very critical, and how do they affect the stability of the electroplating solution?

Bigolly Technology made an analysis based on the field experience and the characteristics of the product's electroless nickel plating solution Ni-809,need to pay attention to these 3 points:

    1. The hypophosphite concentration is too high.Although a high concentration of hypophosphite can improve the deposition rate of the coating, when the deposition rate reaches the limit, increasing the concentration of hypophosphite will not only increase the deposition rate, but also lead to the spontaneous decomposition of the plating solution. If the concentration of hypophosphite is too high, the precipitation of nickel phosphite will easily occur. If the pH value in the plating solution is also high, the precipitation point of nickel phosphite will decrease. When there is nickel phosphite in the plating solution, it is easy to make the plating solution cloudy and cause spontaneous decomposition.

    2. The concentration of nickel salt is too high. When the concentration of nickel salt is high, the deposition rate will be accelerated, but at the same time, when the pH value of the plating solution is also high, nickel phosphite or nickel hydroxide precipitation is likely to be formed, which makes the plating solution turbid and easily causes the spontaneous decomposition of the plating solution.

    3. The concentration of complexing agent is too low.Generally, the complexing agent has two functions in the electroless nickel plating solution: complexing the nickel ions in the plating solution to maintain the stability of the nickel ions in the plating solution; improving the precipitation point of nickel phosphite in the plating solution. When the concentration of the complexing agent in the plating solution is too low, the phosphite radicals will continue to increase, and the plating solution is prone to precipitation and spontaneous decomposition.

Therefore, we should strictly control the concentration of each component in the production of electroless nickel plating solution to improve the stability of the plating solution, which is also an effective method to reduce production costs. If you are interested in electroless nickel plating solution, please contact Bigolly customer service to get free samples and detailed technical information!
