In the production process of using nickel plating additives, when electrolytic treatment of impurities is required, how should the temperature and pH value be selected?
In principle, electroplating plants should determine based on the temperature and pH range where impurities have a greater adverse impact during electroplating. Some impurities tend to precipitate on the cathode when the pH value is relatively low. Some tend to precipitate when the pH value is relatively high.
For instance, copper ions and nitrate impurities in nickel plating solutions have a significant impact when the pH value is relatively low. Therefore, when electrolytically removing these two impurities from nickel plating solutions, a low pH value should be selected for electrolysis. Under such conditions, the speed of impurity removal is relatively fast.
In the application and production of nickel plating additives, some impurities in the plating solution will decompose into gases during the electrolysis process (for example, nitrate ions are reduced to nitrogen oxides or ammonia at the cathode, and chloride ions are oxidized to chlorine at the anode). At this time, a relatively high liquid temperature should be selected for electrolysis to allow the gases formed during the electrolysis process to volatilize and escape (the solubility of gases in the solution, It generally decreases as the temperature rises, thereby preventing it from dissolving in water and re-staining the plating solution.
