One customer, in the process of using nickel sulfamate additive, the operator accidentally added bright nickel additive to the nickel sulfamate plating solution, resulting in a very brittle workpiece coating. How to solve this problem?
According to the field experience and the characteristics of nickel sulfamate additive Ni-1000, Bigolly Technology has made analysis and found that nickel sulfamate plating solution can not add bright nickel additives, which will increase the stress of the coating and make it brittle, and some will break when they break. So we should find a way to remove the brightener in the plating solution. Here we introduce a treatment method of potassium permanganate:
First, heat the bath to 60 ℃, adjust the pH of the bath to 2.0~2.5 with dilute sulfuric acid, dissolve potassium permanganate (about 0.3~1.0 g/L) in hot water, add it into the bath several times under strong stirring, keep it warm and stir it for 30 minutes, then add 3~5 g/L active carbon to treat it for 2 hours, leave it still for 4 hours, stop heat preservation and filter the bath, and use nickel carbonate to adjust the pH of the bath to the normal range, After 4 hours of low current electrolysis, adjust the concentration of nickel sulfamate additive in the plating solution, and then trial production can be carried out.
During the production process using nickel sulfamate additive, adding the wrong bright nickel additive will seriously affect the production progress. Using the above methods can remove the bright nickel additive in the plating solution, restore the plating solution to normal, and reduce the loss caused by failures. If you are interested in nickel sulfamate additive, please contact the Bigolly customer service for free samples and detailed technical information!
