We all know that in the process of using hard chrome plating additives, many workpieces have strict requirements for the uniformity of hard chrome coating thickness.Generally, the dispersion performance of chrome plating solution is poor. For workpieces with large area, the thicker the chrome layer is deposited, the more uneven the distribution of the coating will be due to the longer plating time and higher current during hard chromium plating. However, sometimes the uneven thickness of the workpiece coating is related to the position of the anode plate.

According to the field experience and the characteristics of the hard chrome plating additive Cr-2, Bigolly Technology has analyzed that the uniformity of the thickness of the chrome plating layer on the workpiece is related to the distance between the anode plate and the workpiece. If the distance between the anode plate and the workpiece is slightly increased, the current can be distributed unevenly on the cathode surface; If the distance between the anode and the workpiece is too close, the current distribution will be uneven; When the distance between the anode and the workpiece is too far, the resistance of the plating solution is large, the workpiece can not obtain normal current, and the uniformity of the plating solution is also poor. Therefore, the distance between the anode plate and the workpiece should be controlled within 10~25cm.In normal production operation, the following three points should be noted:

    1. The workpiece with simple shape can be close to the anode plate; The workpiece with complex shape can be slightly farther from the anode plate.

    2. Workpieces with different shapes and sizes cannot be electroplated in the same bath to avoid affecting the thickness of the coating due to serious uneven current distribution.

    3. The distance between the different parts of the workpiece suspension and the anode plate should be the same as far as possible, so that the current distribution obtained in the plating solution is more uniform, and the thickness of the workpiece will also be more uniform.

Therefore, we should control the distance between the workpiece and the anode plate in the production process of using hard chrome plating additive, and pay attention to the above three points to ensure that the workpiece can obtain uniform hard chromium coating. If you are interested in hard chrome plating additives, please contact Bigolly customer service for free samples and detailed technical information!
