Some customers have inquired about what to do if the pure tin plating layer is easily discolored when using methanesulfonic acid bright tin additives. We can analyze this problem from three angles.
There are three solutions to the problem of discoloration of pure tin plating as follows.
①Select good pure tin additives
Adopting additive components with less entrapment and adsorption in the plating layer, controlling the crystalline structure, reducing crystalline defects, avoiding the use of adsorbent strong itself colored or oxidized color components, increasing the stability of the plating solution, avoiding the turbidity of the plating solution. We can consider using Sn-819, a methanesulfonic acid bright tin additive from Bigely, which can meet the above requirements.
②Improve plating process control
Avoid pre-treatment over corrosion, avoid turbidity of the plating solution, choose the bright tin methanesulfonate additives with less addition and consumption, control the main salt, acidity, temperature and current density of the plating solution, avoid introducing other impurities into the plating solution, and treat the bath regularly under the guidance of Bigely engineers.
③Enhance post-plating treatment
Strengthen the cleaning, ensure that the cleaning water is clean, clean, the reason why the plating layer will appear yellow, the main reason is due to the plating of improper treatment, cleaning is not sufficient caused by the regular update of the neutralization solution, the use of appropriate post-treatment solution.
