Using Bigely hard chrome plating additives Cr-2 as an example, the following steps are to be observed when formulating the plating solution:

1. Clean the plating tank, then have the worker add two-thirds of the volume of water, followed by heating the plating solution to 45℃.

2. Add chromic anhydride at the ratio of 250g/L and mix well.

3. Add chemically pure sulfuric acid at the ratio of 2.5g/L. Note that the sulfuric acid content in chromic anhydride should be deducted here. Mix well.

4. Add 20ml/L of hard chrome additive CR-2, add water to the required volume and mix well.

5. Place a lead-tin containing anode (tin content of 7-10%), with a pseudo-cathode with an area five times the area of the anode, and electrolyze for 4 hours (Dk controlled at 15A/dm2)

6. Heat up the plating solution to 55℃ and start plating.
