When you are doing the production of electroless nickel plating, you must face a big problem: poor stability of the plating solution, slow deposition, resulting in low productivity and high production costs. What should be done?
The electroless nickel plating process has an autocatalytic effect, which tends to deposit the nickel plating layer on the wall of the tank and other places, affecting the effective deposition of nickel on the workpiece.
Therefore, after a period of production, the electroplating plant must interrupt production or replace the plating tanks, so as to be able to clean the walls of the tanks and piping systems nickel layer, and it is necessary to try to passivate the walls of the plating tanks, so as to facilitate the reuse, and try to extend the cleaning cycle.
It is not difficult to find that after this operation, production efficiency will decrease, and production line maintenance costs will also rise.
On the other hand, the deposition rate of the plating solution decreases after it has been used for a period of time, and the performance of the processed layer (such as corrosion resistance, hardness, and abrasion resistance) deteriorates, which is a problem that needs to be solved in order to realize large-scale production.
In the case of nickel plating with hypophosphite systems, phosphites are produced during the production process, which are by-products that can cause decomposition of the plating solution when their content reaches a certain level.
Meanwhile, metal ions such as Fe2+ and Zn2+ brought into the plating solution by the pre-treatment process of the workpiece, as well as NH4+, SO42-, and Na+ generated during plating and replenishment of the plating solution, both of which reduce the deposition rate and affect the performance of the plating layer.
Organic substances in the plating solution will also be decomposed due to long-term exposure to high temperatures, resulting in deterioration of the performance of the plating solution and the plated layer.
At present, the service life of electroless nickel plating solution is usually around 6~8 cycles. It is recommended to use Bigely electroless nickel plating concentrate, which has a long service life (the performance of the plating layer is stable and will not decline during the service period), so you don't need to replace the plating solution frequently, which is conducive to the normal production and improves the production efficiency; and this can reduce the generation of waste liquid, avoiding the occurrence of high production costs, helping you to save a sum of money while also helping to protect the environment.
