There are a lot of factors to get high brightness and high leveling plating, the selection of good brightener and correct application is certainly an important factor, but not the only factor. Some plating plant, a problem will be considered to be the cause of nickel plating brightener, is it really so? In fact, it is not.
So what are all the causes of plating failure problems? One of them is that the boric acid content should not be too low.
In nickel plating solution, boric acid is not only a pH buffer, but also on the refinement of the plating layer crystals, to ensure that the plating layer bright leveling has a great contribution, including potassium chloride zinc plating, its content can not be too low. For bright nickel solution, it should be added to the liquid temperature down to room temperature, the bottom of the container has more boric acid crystals.
Several issues should be noted when using boric acid in industrial applications:
1) The content of various industrial boric acid varies greatly, so you can use boric acid of good quality and reputation.
2) In the use of nickel brightener, usually the results of the boric acid test are high, can not be adjusted by the test results. Bigely engineers recommend using the “cooling crystallization method” to determine whether or not to add.
3) Before the cold liquid is warmed up and used, the boric acid crystals at the bottom of the tank should be stirred and dissolved before production. Even if the liquid temperature is increased to 60 ℃, the crystals at the bottom of the tank are difficult to dissolve themselves, and the actual concentration of boric acid in the working fluid is insufficient.
