1. The concentration of nickel sulfate in the plating solution is low.Nickel sulfate is the main source of nickel ions.When the concentration of nickel sulfate is low, the plating ability of the plating solution is better, but the current efficiency of the cathode is low, the upper limit of the current density of the cathode is small, and the plating layer is rough or charred.
2. The concentration of boric acid in the plating solution is low.Boric acid is a common buffer in plating baths, which can stabilize the pH of nickel plating baths.When the concentration of boric acid in the plating solution is low, the pH value is unstable, and the coating is prone to blooming, brittleness, fogging and burning.
3. The pH value of the plating solution is too high.The pH of the nickel plating bath has a great influence on the nickel deposition process and the quality of the nickel layer obtained.When the pH value of the plating solution is too high, the basic nickel salt is prone to precipitation near the cathode, so that the bubbles stay on the surface of the cathode, and the nickel plating layer will be mixed with basic nickel salt, resulting in the phenomenon of rough crystallization and discoloration of the nickel layer.
4. The temperature of the plating solution is low.Appropriate temperature in the plating solution can improve the solubility and conductivity of salts in the plating solution, and at the same time, it can accelerate the diffusion rate of nickel ions to anions and reduce the internal stress of the nickel layer.When the temperature of the plating solution is low, other process parameters will change correspondingly, resulting in easy scorching of the nickel plating layer.
