In the process of using decorative chromium plating additives, there will be iron, copper, zinc, lead and other metal impurities in the plating solution, which will affect the performance of the workpiece coating. So what are these metal impurities from?

According to the field experience and the characteristics of the product decorative chromium plating additive Cr-9, Bigolly Technology has made an analysis. The metal impurities in the plating solution are mainly: the chromium plated workpiece falls into the plating bath, the workpiece concave is not completely chromium plated and dissolves, and the raw materials themselves.

When the workpiece falls into the plating bath, it will be corroded and dissolved to produce a large amount of iron ions. With the production going on, the color of the plating solution is darker, and the voltage will rise a lot.At this time, the plating solution may have been contaminated by copper, zinc, lead and other metal impurities.

In the chromium plating solution, when the content of iron impurities is lower than 3g/L, the performance of the coating will not be affected basically; When the content of iron impurities is 3~5g/L, the brightness of the coating will be reduced; When the iron impurity content exceeds 5g/L, the brightness of the workpiece coating is poor, the cathodic current density decreases, the resistance of the plating solution increases, and the current fluctuates greatly during production; When the iron impurity content exceeds 10g/L, the plating solution is brown, and the workpiece coating will have spots.

When copper, zinc, lead and other impurities accumulate too much in the plating solution, the covering ability of the workpiece coating will be affected. The content of zinc and lead impurities in general plating solution shall not exceed 3g/L, and the content of copper impurities shall not exceed 5g/L.

Therefore, in the process of using decorative chromium plating additives, we should strengthen the maintenance and management of the plating solution, reduce the impact of metal impurities on the workpiece coating, and reduce the failure rate.If you are interested in decorative chrome plating additives, please contact the Bigolly customer service for free samples and detailed technical information!
