Reasons for workpiece blackening at the hook when using alkaline zinc nickel alloy additive for production

In the production process of using alkaline zinc nickel alloy additive, the workpiece will be blackened at the hook, which will seriously affect the appearance quality of the workpiece. So, what causes this phenomenon?

According to the field experience and the characteristics of the alkaline zinc nickel alloy additive BZ-617, Bigolly Technology has analyzed the following four points:

    1. Low zinc and high nickel in the plating solution will easily cause poor dispersion ability of the plating solution, and blackening will occur on the hook of the workpiece.During the production process, the mass concentration of zinc and nickel in the plating solution should be controlled within the process range.

    2. Insufficient concentration of zinc nickel alloy brightener in the bath will affect the codeposition of zinc nickel alloy, resulting in poor dispersion of the bath.During the production process, Hull cell experiment can be used to determine and adjust the concentration of brightener within the normal range.

    3. The influence of metal impurities in the plating solution. With the development of production, the content of metal impurities in the plating solution will continue to accumulate. When the content of metal impurities is high, the dispersion ability of the plating solution is poor, and the coating will also be blackened.0# zinc plate shall be used in the production process to reduce the dissolution of other metal impurities, and electrolytic method shall be used regularly to treat the plating solution.

    4. The mass concentration of sodium carbonate in the bath is high. The high concentration of sodium carbonate will reduce the current efficiency of the cathode, affect the codeposition of zinc nickel alloy, and lead to the blackening of the coating. The freezing method can be used to reduce the bath temperature to about 5 ℃ if the sodium carbonate content in the bath is high. The sodium carbonate will crystallize, and more sodium carbonate can be removed by filtering the bath.

Therefore, when we use alkaline zinc nickel alloy additive for production, we should pay attention to these four points when the workpiece is blackened at the hook, so as to maintain a better uniformity and dispersion ability of the plating solution. If you are interested in alkaline zinc nickel alloy additives, please contact the Bigolly customer service for free samples and detailed technical information!
