In the tin plating process, the dispersing ability of the plating solution is the core parameter that determines the uniformity of the plated layer. Poor dispersing ability will lead to localized over-thickness or leakage of the plated layer, especially in the high-current density region is prone to form a “burnt” rough layer, while the low-current region due to the lack of metal deposition leads to increased porosity. This phenomenon is mainly related to the conductivity of the plating solution, the concentration of tin brightening agent and electrode shape design. When the dispersing ability of the plating solution is insufficient, it is difficult for the conventional anode to compensate for the edge effect, resulting in an imbalance in current density distribution.
