A customer inquired how to reduce the production of black anode sludge when we use acid tin plating brightener?
Tin itself is insoluble in dilute sulfuric acid, in dilute sulfuric acid will not be oxidized to SnO. Only in electrolysis as anode precipitation of oxygen, will be oxidized by oxygen and produce black SnO, SnO from the tin plate off the formation of anode mud slag.
The larger the anode area is, the smaller the corresponding anode current density is, the higher the anode current efficiency is, the less oxygen is precipitated on the anode, and the less SnO is generated.
Therefore, when using Bigely acid tin plating brightener, if you want to reduce the anode sludge, the main measure is to have a large enough anode area, our engineers will recommend to control the anode current density at (1.0~1.5)A/dm2, and there should be no big gas bubbles on the anode tin plate during production.
