Copper pyrophosphate plating process is widely used in practical production due to the advantages of simple composition of plating solution, weak alkali and good stability. However, when using copper pyrophosphate brightener, the production efficiency is affected by the narrow range of working current density. How to improve the plating efficiency of copper pyrophosphate plating process? It is a difficult point that many electroplating factories are struggling to find.

In terms of plating solution composition, studies have shown that potassium pyrophosphate is the main complexing agent of the plating solution, and its content has an impact on plating efficiency. When the content of potassium pyrophosphate is too low, the free amount is insufficient, and the poor complexation with copper will lead to the current not being able to turn on effectively and the deposition speed is slow.

While too high temperature will reduce the dispersion performance and current efficiency, and reduce the ability of potassium pyrophosphate to form complexes with copper ions. Therefore, we need to control the temperature of the plating solution in a suitable range when using pyro-copper brightener, which is generally recommended to be around 55℃.
