It is commonly believed that during the use of electroless nickel concentrates, the plated parts are plated more uniformly because they are not disturbed by power lines. Is this view correct? Actually, it is not.
In fact, due to the different positions of the plated parts in the plating bath, the agitation intensity of the plating solution at different positions, that is, the flow rate of the plating solution felt by the plated parts is not consistent, and the deposition rate of the plated layer will be different. Bigely engineers have taken samples from different positions of the same pendant plated parts in the customer's production site to do the test of plating thickness measurement.
Tests have shown that when the intensity of the plating solution stirring is gradually increased (the plated parts from the furthest away from the stirring bar to the closest to the stirring bar), the electroless nickel plating speed gradually increases; however, when the intensity of the plating solution stirring is too large (the plated parts are closest to the discharge port of the circulating filter pump), it means that the flow rate of the liquid solution on the surface of the plated parts is too fast, and the electroless nickel plating speed decreases instead.
The above is the effect on the deposition speed, in the use of electroless nickel concentrate, the stirring intensity will also have an impact on the quality of the plated layer. We have found that when the stirring strength of the plating solution is too low (because the stirring motor speed is too low, resulting in a very low flow rate of the plating solution or even no flow), most of the surface of the plated parts on the pegs will appear a lot of pockmarks because of the hydrogen bubbles retained in a certain part.
