Some customers inquire that the brightness of the plated layer of Bigely Sn-807 tin plating brightener is really that good, this article will introduce it.
To answer this question, we need to figure out what effect all kinds of additives will have on the tin plating layer? Tin plating brightener is mainly divided into the main brightener, auxiliary brightener, carrier brightener, stabilizer and so on.
Main brightener
The main role of the main brightener is to improve the cathodic polarization, so that the tin-plated layer is detailed and bright, and to make the potential of different crystal surfaces at various points close to avoid the formation of unidirectional growth in electroplating, so as to achieve the purpose of inhibiting the growth of crystals, which is conducive to the growth of crystal nuclei.
If the content of the main brightener is too high, the coating will be bright and brittle, and the binding force and weldability will be poor. Too little will make the coating not bright, so the content should be controlled when used. Commonly used main brighteners for tin plating include aromatic aldehydes, unsaturated ketones, amines, etc.
Auxiliary brightener
Because the main brightener should be a substance with strong adsorption on the cathode and a positive desorption potential, but often because its concentration is too high, it will make hydrogen easy to precipitate, resulting in a significant decrease in brightness, so it is necessary to add auxiliary brightener to obtain bright tin plating layer.
Commonly used auxiliary brighteners are aliphatic aldehydes and unsaturated carbonyl compounds, such as esters, aldehydes, ketones and so on. The auxiliary brightener itself alone can not produce light, but when it is used in conjunction with the main brightener, it can enhance and promote the brightness of the main brightener, or can reduce the amount of the main brightener, enhance its performance.
The auxiliary brightener can also work synergistically with the main brightener to refine the grain and expand the bright zone.
