In the production process of using acid copper plating brightener, the high current area of the workpiece is prone to scorch, which will seriously affect the quality of the workpiece coating. What causes this phenomenon?

According to the site experience and the characteristics of acid copper plating brightener Cu-510, Bigolly Technology has analyzed the following five points:

    1. The bath temperature is too low.Generally, the temperature of plating solution should be controlled within the range of 20~45 ℃.The bath temperature is too low, the allowable current density is low, copper sulfate is easy to crystallize and precipitate, and the workpiece is easy to be burnt.

    2. The copper content in the bath is low.In acid copper plating solution, the content of copper sulfate should be controlled within the range of 200~240g/L.When the copper content in the plating solution is low, the allowable working current density is low, the cathode current efficiency is poor, and the workpiece is easy to be burnt.

    3. Cu-510A is excessive.Cu-510A is used to provide low area brightness, leveling and wide temperature. If Cu-510A is excessive, the coating is relatively rough, and the high area and edge are prone to scorch. The plating solution can be adjusted by adding 0.1~0.2ml/L Cu-510B.

    4. The content of brightener Cu-510B is insufficient.Brightener has the function of refining grain, dispersing and wetting the low area, and can provide the bright leveling effect of high and middle areas. When the content of Cu-510B is insufficient, the leveling effect of the coating is poor, the coating is rough, and there will be dendriform deposition and edge burning and powdery nodule in the high area.At this time, 0.2ml/L Cu-210B can be added properly to adjust the plating solution.

    5. The chloride ion content in the plating solution is insufficient.Chloride ion is a necessary organic anion. When the content of chloride ion in the plating solution is insufficient, the leveling effect of the workpiece is poor, and the high area of the workpiece is prone to scorch.

Therefore, we should pay attention to the above five points in the process of using acid copper plating brightener to avoid the phenomenon of high area coking of the workpiece, reduce the occurrence of faults and improve production efficiency. If you are interested in acid copper plating brightener, please contact Bigolly customer service for free samples and detailed technical information!
