The Cu-510 bright acid copper plating process produces a bright copper plating with high leveling and high displacement. The internal stress of the coating is small and the corrosion resistance is good.

This method is economical, low operating temperature, strong compatibility, and simple wastewater treatment.

Open cylinder

Pour 2/3 of the volume of water into the plating tank , it is recommended to use deionized water and heat it to 60 ℃ .

Note : If you use tap water, you must first analyze its chloride content. If the chloride content is too high, deionized water is recommended.

· Dissolve the required copper sulfate with hot water and stir continuously.         

· Add 2.0 g / L of high-quality activated carbon to the plating solution , stir well and settle overnight.         

· Filter the treatment liquid into the plating tank.         

· Add appropriate amount of concentrated sulfuric acid as required, stir well, and add water to make up the water level.         

· Add proper amount of reagent pure hydrochloric acid as required and stir well. Usually 265 ml of reagent pure hydrochloric acid (35-37%) requires 1000 liters of deionized water to prepare a copper solution, and its chloride concentration is 120 ppm . If not using deionized water, the chloride ion content of the water must be less than 120ppm . The concentration of hydrochloric acid must be adjusted to obtain the best chloride content.          

· Cool the solution to operating temperature and add Cu-510 MU , · Cu-510 A , · Cu-510 B and · Cu-510 wetting agents as needed, and stir with air.          



Plating tank and filtration

Rubber-lined steel boxes or other plastic boxes must be used. Plated cylinder to be equipped with a mechanical stirring apparatus or a tube made of a continuous air agitation through filtration; air shall degreasing, washing after use recommended type filter. Heating and cooling equipment is required. Continuous stirring of the solution is recommended.


The method for an anode is phosphorus 0.03 - 0.06% . Copper anodes of other materials will produce rough coatings or increase the amount of additives. A sufficient anode area may be maintained at an anode current density of 2-4 Security / dm 2 range within. Insoluble anodes will increase the consumption of additives; it is recommended to use polypropylene anode packages after the plating tank equipment is installed, cleaned and filtered.


The consumption depends on the required brightness requirements and the resulting loss. Cu-510 MU will bring out the consumption. Add 50 ml Cu-510 MU for every 1 kg of copper sulfate added .

Consumption of other additives :

510-a Cu A   : 50 - 80 mL / 1000 ampere-hours 

510-a Cu B   : 20 is - 30 mL / 1000 ampere-hours 

Solution control

The chloride, copper sulfate and sulfuric acid content must be analyzed and adjusted weekly.

The content of the brightener is controlled by the Hull cell test equipped with air agitation. It is recommended that the material of the electric board and the plated metal should be the same.

Add copper sulfate to the plating solution through the anode package or filter; sulfuric acid can be added directly. Add the brightener according to the operating ampere, it is recommended to add less and more frequently.

The temperature must be kept at about 25 ℃ . Good low current density area luminance; if the temperature is lower than 20 is deg.] C , the burn easily broken plating. At around 35 ℃ , spots are prone to be generated in low current density areas . By increasing a Cu-510 A feeding rate of the local gram serving.

Purification treatment

Normally Cu-510 bright acid copper plating does not require oxidation / or batch carbon treatment. If the introduction of impurities requires oxidation / or batch carbon treatment, the plating solution must be drawn to the treatment tank and treated with activated carbon.


The plating solution is highly corrosive, and acid-resistant coating must be used to protect the outer layer and bottom of the plating tank and other equipment that touches the solution.

Plating tank

Use rubber lined steel box, lined polyethylene or polypropylene fiber glass box. The new plating tank must be filtered with 3-5% sulfuric acid at 50-60 ℃ . The plating tank must have enough plate height ( 6 inches) to carry the spray of air stirring. It is recommended for smoke exhaust treatment.


The Cu-510 solution must be stirred with air. It is recommended to use polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride pipe. Stirring cathode tube shall be positioned intermediate electrode and the anode rod and the rod is fixed. The air holes must be aligned with the bottom of the plating tank at a 45 degree angle; the distance between the holes is 2 cm,

The diameter of the stomata is 3 mm. In this way, air flow can be ensured, and the stirring pipe drains when the plating solution is empty. Bottom and empty

The distance between the top of the gas stirring tube must be 15 cm. Filtered low pressure air should be used instead of compressed air.


Continuous filtration is recommended. But it is not recommended to use activated carbon, because activated carbon will filter out the light agent. The air pump and filter must be capable of turning the solution at least 2 times per hour . Due to the strong corrosiveness of the solution, the surface of the equipment touching the solution, such as filter pumps, must be acid resistant. We recommend the use of hard rubber and plastic pump, polyvinyl chloride, rubber, hard rubber, polypropylene or propylene and polypropylene filter box filter disk.

Plating rack

The coating of the plating rack must be guaranteed not to pollute the plating solution. Usually use bright nickel plating rack coating.


A phosphor copper anode containing 0.03% phosphorous is used. Other anodes will cause excessive loss of light agent and produce rough coatings.

Anode area is a cathode area to be 2 -fold . Use polypropylene or polyester anode packages. It is recommended to rinse the anode package thoroughly and filter it with a 5% volume ratio sulfuric acid solution before use. It must be rinsed thoroughly with clean water before entering the plating tank. If an anode basket is used, it must be a titanium anode basket .

cool down

The recommended operating temperature of the solution is 25-30 ℃ . The brightness and leveling of the coating above 35 ℃ are reduced. When necessary, it is recommended to use polyester, titanium or lead cooling tubes or heat exchangers to cool the solution.

Analysis control

The content of copper sulfate, sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid in the plating tank must be routinely checked and adjusted according to the following analysis steps.
