What are the signs of good performance of the electroless nickel plating bath? Some electroplating factories believe that it has a wide range of operations. There is some truth to this statement. Different electroless nickel concentrates have varying degrees of sensitivity to pH values. Compared with the plating bath where the operating parameters must be strictly limited, operators naturally prefer the plating bath that can form a coating of consistent quality within a wide pH range.
However, the pH value of the plating bath has a significant impact on the performance of the coating, to the extent that the pH control range of the plating bath in advanced modern commercial products is still very narrow, usually limited within ±0.2 of the optimal value. It is technically entirely possible to achieve this with the aid of appropriate equipment.
Before adjusting the pH value of the old-fashioned electroless nickel plating solution, the plating bath must be cooled from the operating temperature to below 70℃; otherwise, Ni(OH)2 flocculent precipitates will form, leading to the decomposition of the plating bath.
