Why do plastic electroplating factories feel that the cost of using colloidal palladium activating solution is high?
Based on our experience, except for electroless silver plating which can be carried out directly after sensitization, other electroless plating processes (such as plastic electroless nickel plating) all require palladium activation treatment. After the activation treatment, the surface of the plastic workpiece will adsorb a layer of metal particles (with activity), so that the electroless plating can proceed normally. Common activation solutions include ionic palladium activation solution and colloidal palladium activation solution, etc.
During the process of using colloidal palladium activating solution in the electroplating factory, the reason for the large usage volume and the sharp increase in production costs is that some of the catalytic palladium they use requires 30-50 ppm per liter to function effectively. As a result, the output volume becomes larger.
