In order to enhance production efficiency and ensure the quality of the coating, when using the electroless nickel plating solution, we need to properly carry out the stirring process and place the workpieces correctly.
In order to ensure that the nickel-phosphorus alloy is evenly deposited on all parts of the workpiece, when hanging the workpiece in the plating tank, the position must be carefully selected. Apart from the plating surfaces not being in close contact with each other, there must also be no under-plating phenomenon caused by the inability of gas to escape at the accumulation points. Special attention should be paid to workpieces with complex shapes.
But merely achieving this is not enough. During the use of the Bigely electroless nickel plating solution, in order to ensure uniform bath temperature, eliminate the concentration differences between the surface of the workpiece and the overall solution of the plating tank, and remove the bubbles on the surface of the workpiece, it is very necessary to perform appropriate stirring.
As a supplier of electroless nickel plating solutions, the engineers of Bigely have, during their many years of on-site services, identified the following two types of stirring methods as being more suitable for electroplating factories: One is to rotate the workpiece, but this method is only applicable to mass production of a certain standardized product. The appropriate fixtures should be made simultaneously during the design of the plating tank. It is more difficult to rotate large workpieces, irregular or multi-variety components.
Another approach is to circulate the plating solution using a pump while filtering it simultaneously. Alternatively, clean and mild air can be used for stirring, or mechanical stirring can be employed. Experimental findings show that when the pH is between 6 and 8, air stirring can increase the plating speed; when the pH is between 10 and 12, ultrasonic stirring can also enhance the plating speed. However, the latter method has two drawbacks: one is that it reduces the stability of the plating solution, and the other is that the equipment investment is high. It should be noted that it is more suitable for electroplating processes with high requirements and importance.
