① There are fine granular pinholes
Possible reasons include:
1. The pH value of the plating solution is too high
2. Decrease in cathode current efficiency
3. During the application of copper brightener based on copper pyrophosphate, due to the high viscosity of the copper plating solution made from copper pyrophosphate, the solution has poor wetting property, and fine hydrogen bubbles remain and form gas pores
4. Due to the presence of oil stains in the pre-plating solution, the pre-cleaning water, and the plating solution, and their attachment to the workpiece surface in the form of fine dots, insulating small points are formed, resulting in plating layer pinholes
② There are raised sediment deposits, indicating poor leveling
Possible reasons include:
1. If the pH value is too low or too high, the coordination strength is inappropriate
2. The bath solution is too dilute, and the concentration of the main salt is accordingly too low
3. Insufficient brightener for blister copper
4. Poor pre-polishing of the substrate before plating
5. Uneven pre-coating layer
