During the process of using acid galvanizing brighteners, some electroplating plants' plating solutions tend to produce floating oil, which is an oily substance floating on the surface of the plating solution. What should be done about this?
Based on on-site experience and the characteristics of the products, Bigely Technology has made the following analysis:
1. The pretreatment oil removal was poor, and there was a large amount of organic oil in the plating tank, which formed saponification with the surfactant, etc. The viscosity of the floating oil in the acid galvanizing solution is high, and it tends to stick to the tank wall, hangers, rollers, anode plates and plated parts, making it difficult to remove completely. However, acid galvanizing solution is weakly acid and does not have the ability to remove oil by itself.
2. There are a relatively large number of iron ions in the acid zinc plating solution, and the plating solution is generally rather turbid. The conductive salt potassium chloride has a significant impact on the cloud point of the plating solution. When there are many iron impurities in the plating solution, the cloud point of the acid galvanizing additive will drop significantly.
3. The pH value of the acid zinc plating solution is ≥6.0. During the production process, the pH value of the acid zinc plating solution should be well controlled between 5.6 and 6.0.
