What are the methods for measuring the thickness of the electroplating coating after using electroless nickel plating solution in an electroplating plant? In this article, we will share two of them.

① Engineering measuring tool measurement method

The coating thickness is calculated by measuring the dimensions before and after plating with a micrometer, and the average value is taken as the coating thickness of the test piece.

② Cross-sectional measurement method

The microscopic method for measuring the thickness of the coating is simple and intuitive. Its basic principle is as follows: Select a representative sample on the piece to be tested, and then technicians can, under the guidance of Bigley engineers, make a cross-section that meets the requirements. Through an optical microscope, under image magnification, measure the width of the cross-section of the coating with a high-precision scale. This is the thickness of the coating.
