Why do the workpieces corrode when using alloy electrolytic degreasing powder? The main factors that have a significant impact on the quality of the electrolytic degreasing process are the solution temperature and the degreasing time. In this article, we will analyze these aspects.
① The concentration of sodium hydroxide is too low
When the concentration of sodium hydroxide is too low, the pH value of the solution in the anode area decreases first, resulting in a slower oil removal rate, an increase in oxygen release, and the surface of the workpiece begins to be oxidized. Deposits start to form on the surface, and even obvious brown rust may appear. Therefore, electroplating factories should conduct regular laboratory analyses or make supplementary adjustments based on experience.
The reason for this problem is that some electroplating factories choose to prepare their own degreasing solutions. However, doing so requires a thorough understanding of the functions and dosages of each component of the solution. Otherwise, it is likely to cause faults such as corrosion of the workpieces. Moreover, even if the solution is prepared, it may not meet environmental protection requirements.
To solve the problem, the alloy electrolytic degreasing powder BC-1108 from Bigely can be used. This product was developed by the engineering team through the synergistic effect of surfactants, where various components were reasonably combined. As a result, this electrolytic degreasing powder has excellent cleaning performance even without containing phosphates. During use, there is no need to conduct complex analysis and testing to add supplementary components. Just add the specified dosage of the degreasing powder as per the instructions, which is very simple. This not only reduces the workload in the workshop but also simplifies the wastewater treatment process.
② Degreasing time
The degreasing time for anodic electrolytic degreasing should be controlled between 15 seconds and 2 minutes. This ensures the complete removal of the thin oil film from the workpiece surface without adversely affecting either the workpiece or the quality of the plating layer.
