In the application process of alkaline galvanizing additives, lead ion impurities in the plating solution are not very common, but their impact on the plating solution is significant.

When factories are in production, the main sources of lead impurities are generally impure anodes and inferior chemical raw materials. When the lead impurities in the alkaline zinc bath reach 5mg/L, the coating has been seriously affected.

Lead ions can reduce the covering ability of the plating solution. When there are too many lead ions in the plating solution, the barrel plating will not be able to deposit a coating. After the galvanizing is hung and exposed to dilute nitric acid, the galvanized layer in the low current density area will be missed, and the areas with galvanizing solution will appear yellowish-brown or have black stripes.

Lead ions can also affect the passivation film of the coating. After the galvanized workpiece undergoes color zinc passivation, if the passivation layer is not bright, a yellow interfering color will appear. However, when blue-white zinc is passivated, it is difficult to show blue color.
