Why do we add nickel plating brightener to the nickel plating solution?
Carefully preparing a bright nickel plating solution containing nickel plating brightener can produce a bright nickel coating within a wide range of current densities. The coating has excellent leveling or crack-filling properties, good toughness, and low internal stress.
Adding Bigely nickel plating brightener Ni-301 to the solution enables the production of a bright coating in the low current density area. It allows for the use of a higher average current density and bath temperature compared to the solutions used earlier. Compared to those earlier solutions, this solution is less sensitive to metal impurities and allows for continuous filtration and purification of the plating solution using activated carbon. The generated decomposition products can also be treated with activated carbon for removal. Moreover, its impact on the anode reaction is not significant.
Mr. Wu from Hezhou once complained that the nickel-plated parts always had poor brightness in the concave areas or deep holes, which greatly reduced the product performance. After checking the process parameters, no cause was found. So he invited the engineers from Bigely to come and investigate, and they discovered that it was because the formula of the nickel plating brightener used was not scientific enough and could not meet the requirements of high production runs.
What lies beneath the problem is that the products provided by the nickel plating brightener manufacturer with which Mr. Wu is currently collaborating are insufficient to enable the electroplating factory to handle more high-quality orders.
So he switched to using Bigely nickel plating brightener Ni-301. After the trial, it was found that in the low current density areas of the workpiece, a uniform nickel plating layer could be deposited, effectively solving the problem of the thin and poor brightness of the plating layer in the low current area.
