After high-phosphorus electroless nickel plating on aluminum alloy, what should the electroplating factory do to know whether the bonding strength of the coating is good or not? ① Bending test

The sample is wound 180° along a core axis with a minimum diameter of 12mm or four times the thickness of the sample, and inspected with a 4x magnifying glass. If there is any peeling of the coating, it indicates poor bonding strength of the coating; otherwise, the opposite is also true. There is one point to note here, that is, the cracking of the coating on the bending and stretching surface should not be regarded as poor bonding strength of the coating.

② Thermal shock test

For different base metals, the parts coated with electroless nickel plating layer are heated in the furnace for 1 hour in accordance with the relevant requirements of the table. When the workpiece is quenched in water at room temperature, the coating should not bubble or peel off. Please note that if this test method has an adverse effect on the mechanical properties of the parts, this test should not be adopted and other test methods should be used instead.
