When using electroless nickel solution, some customers will require that the workpiece has both high hardness and high corrosion resistance. How should this be carried out?
1. Electroless nickel has higher hardness with lower phosphorus content. Therefore, medium-phosphorus electroless nickel is superior to high-phosphorus electroless nickel. The corrosion resistance of high-phosphorus electroless nickel is better than that of medium-phosphorus electroless nickel. To achieve both excellent corrosion resistance and hardness, medium-phosphorus electroless nickel can be chosen. After heat treatment, the hardness of medium-phosphorus electroless nickel is not much different from that of high-phosphorus electroless nickel.
2. The pretreatment of electroless nickel will affect the corrosion resistance of the coating. The surface of the workpiece must be thoroughly treated before pretreatment to obtain a electroless nickel layer with excellent corrosion resistance.
3. The maintenance of pH value and temperature of the electroless nickel solution is very important. During the operation process, strict control should be carried out in accordance with the instructions, and contamination by impurities should be avoided to ensure that the electroless nickel layer has good performance.
