In the production of plastic electroplating, the correct use and maintenance of plastic roughening solution can not only ensure the stability of the electroplating quality of the parts, but also extend their service life and reduce production costs. In this article, we will combine actual production cases to share several important points to note.
1. The temperature of the newly prepared roughening solution is generally above 85°C. It should be cooled down to the process specification (the temperature specification for the plastic roughening solution PL-2 is 60-75°C) before the roughening process can be carried out.
2. Remove all alkaline residues from the plated parts. After the plated parts have undergone alkaline degreasing, they should be thoroughly cleaned before proceeding with the roughening process. The purpose is to prevent the alkaline solution from being carried in and reacting with sulfuric acid or diluting the roughening solution.
3. Increase the loading amount of the roughening solution. It is advisable for the volume of the workpiece to be 1/4 to 1/3 of the volume of the solution in the tank. Excessive loading can easily lead to uneven roughening.
4. Stirring. As a manufacturer of plastic roughening solutions, the engineers at Bigely suggest that during the roughening process, the parts must be constantly turned over, especially for those with complex geometries, where mechanical movement should be installed to ensure that the parts can be uniformly roughened.
5. For parts with blind holes or deep blind holes, the blind holes must be sealed. For parts with small quantities, we can use temperature-resistant adhesive tape; for larger quantities, we can use specially designed forming tools. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to clean the remaining roughing solution in the blind holes.
