1. The base of the workpiece is rough. The greater the roughness value of the base surface, the rougher the surface will be after chromium plating. Therefore, to ensure the smoothness of the base surface of the workpiece, the workpiece will be relatively smooth after chromium plating.
2. The base coating is rough. The surface of the nickel coating before chromium plating is rough, so the surface of the workpiece after chromium plating will also be rough. Therefore, before the workpiece undergoes chromium plating, it is necessary to ensure that the surface of the workpiece is smooth, and to guarantee that the surface of the workpiece is smooth after chromium plating.
3. There are fine solid particles in the chromium plating solution. When the workpiece is entering or leaving the plating bath or during the chromium plating process, these particles will deposit on the upward part of the workpiece, resulting in a rough phenomenon. During the production process, a small amount of the plating solution can be taken into a beaker or conical flask after stirring it, and the condition of the plating solution can be observed under strong light. If the phenomenon of particles is observed, the filtration treatment of the plating solution should be strengthened to remove these solid particles in the plating solution.
4. The sulfuric acid content in the plating solution is too low. The higher the content of sulfuric acid in the plating solution, the better the covering ability of the coating, but the brightness will decrease and the coating is prone to mottling and roughness. Therefore, during the production process, the content of sulfuric acid in the plating solution should be analyzed in a timely manner and controlled within the process range.
