Chemical composition of the plating bath
If the composition of the plating bath is unbalanced due to improper maintenance of nickel ions or reducing agent concentration in the plating solution, it will result in slow plating speed, poor coating quality and lack of luster.
If the changes in nickel ion concentration and reducing agent concentration are maintained within 5% to 15%, the plating speed, bath stability and coating appearance can usually remain basically stable. Therefore, when using Bigely electroless nickel plating solution, it is required to regularly analyze the chemical composition of the plating bath, and the frequency of the analysis is directly proportional to the plating load.
For those units that prepare and use their own plating baths, if the raw materials used for preparing the plating bath and adding them, such as pH adjuzers, metal salts, reducing agents, etc., are not purchased from reliable suppliers and are not high-purity, electroless plating grade chemicals, but are cheap chemicals, it is easy to cause malfunctions. This is because certain impurities contained in these chemicals can lead to pinholes in the plating layer. The appearance is dull or the plating is stopped. Insoluble impurities in it can cause the coating to be rough, and even lead to spontaneous decomposition of the plating bath due to insoluble impurities becoming the core of the deposition.
