First of all, the selection and use of tin plating additives have a key impact on the quality of the plated layer. Additives are active ingredients in the plating solution, which can affect the crystal structure and stress distribution of the plated layer. If the quality of the additives used is not up to standard, or the ratio does not match the process requirements, it may lead to uneven plating and easy oxidization and blackening. For example, Bigely tin plating additives can improve the brightness and uniformity of the plated layer. However, too much or not enough additives can cause micro-cracks to form within the layer, making it easier for oxygen and water molecules to enter the layer, leading to oxidized blackening of the rolled tin layer.
Secondly, impurities in the plating solution are also an important factor. The presence of impurities triggers side reactions in the plating process, generating unstable compounds that affect the purity and stability of the tin plating layer, which in turn leads to oxidized blackening of the plating layer after a period of time. Common impurities come from metal ion contamination during the process and aging of the plating solution. If the plating bath is not regularly maintained and replaced, impurities will accumulate and further deteriorate the quality of the plated layer.
