Disproportion between cuprous cyanide and free sodium cyanide
Copper cyanide is the source of sub-copper ions in the plating solution, which needs to be added in the form of cuprous cyanide when preparing the tank solution, while the technicians of plating plants usually control the metal copper content in production, because the copper content has a certain ratio with free cyanide.
In the use of alkaline copper plating additive Cu-201, it is recommended to control the content of cuprous cyanide between 30-45 g/L, high cuprous content, fast on the copper, high productivity, but too much cuprous cyanide when the problem is significantly increased, the probability of blistering of the layer increased a lot.
Problems with the 2% HF activation solution
If you are sure that this is the cause of the failure, you can re-formulate the activation solution, so that the situation will improve after treatment, but some plating plant will feedback that the problem is not completely eliminated.
Careful observation, you can find a layer of imperceptible film layer on the workpiece after the activation of 2% HF solution, it is suspected that this film is electrolytic degreasing after the alkali film layer in the HF activation solution is not reacted off.
