When using hard chrome additives, how should the concentration of chromic anhydride and trivalent chromium be controlled to ensure good production benefits?
The high and low concentration of chromic anhydride in the plating solution has different effects on various aspects, it can be found through production practice, for decorative chromium plating, the concentration of lower better, and the use of hard chrome additives plating, the pursuit of plating speed, the cathode used in the current density is large, when the concentration of chromic anhydride is low, the plating solution conductivity decreases, the tank voltage rises, the power consumption increases, and the cost rises (hard chrome of the cost of power consumption accounted for more than 50% of the total cost). It is not suitable for hard chromium plating and size chromium plating when the concentration is too low.
In ordinary chrome plating solution, Bigely engineers suggest that trivalent chromium should be 1~3g/L. When trivalent chromium is too little, the color of the liquid will be orange-red, and colored film will appear on the parts of plating with no chromium layer in the low-current-density area. Through the principle of chromium plating, we can know that trivalent chromium should be involved in the formation of gelatinous film on the cathode surface. Trivalent chromium content is normal, a small beaker of liquid light observation, orange-red slightly black, but still good light transmission.
